You have such an amazing voice.  Have you ever explored other genre's (synth-pop...country etc?)  Do you do demos?  Really great.

Very Boston/Bon Jovi/ Warrant, actually I MEAN VERY VERY VERY Sounding. Sounded good either way. I enjoyed hearing the RETRO sounds I have played for years along with others.

Thanks for sharing. Uh, did you say this was COUNTRY MUSIC? If so I must say, Uh NO............ It's not........

Sounds great!  Quality composition, arrangement and performance.

This is the second song I've listened to and I think it's safe to say you've got a good thing going...     As with the previous tune the vocals and guitars are standouts for me.    Loved the solo.

Thanks Steve,

Means alot coming from a guitarist of your caliber.   I'm a one trick pony.... I really want to learn how to read music and explore theory and other genres of music but damn...... I have a hard time making time for that with work and all....

Terrific song, great guitars. I would agree with some of the comments regarding the mix ;roll off some lows (300hz might be too much, but bapu is better at this than I am). EQ the vocals to make them a little brighter, but the vox themselves are fine. I like it

Thanks,

I'm gonna experiemnt this weekend and try and clean up the mud in the mix. I'm thinking about picking some more studio monitors... (JBL 5" powered ones) I have the Yamah HS5 and I actually can't stand them.  Hey.... im sure it's me but I have a helluva time getting a good read on the base and mid lows with those speakers. I feel like I'm throwing darts in the dark and then I take it out to the truck.....

I really appreciate that you like my voice..... I cringe everytime I hear my self sing.  I have downloaded some vocal lessons and trying to find the time to do them. Now my Girl Robin.... she can really sing... she's done professional jingles, church stuff and backups for hire in the past.

Remember ...... Sonar has the thing called Melodyne and when you don't overuse it it can be your best friend after 30 takes!!  My vocal stamina is non existent....thank God for home recording as a hobby.

you know.... I've tried to shake this 80's thing but it's a part of my DNA.  I played guitar for about 15yrs back in the
late 70's and throughout the 80's and then Nirvana happened.  I had to get on with real life so I put it down for about 25yrs and about a year and a half ago a buddy that I played in band with in the 80s called and wanted to do a "reunion" We all got together for a couple of rehearsals but the logistics of living in different parts of the US are working against us so we've lost the enthusiasm for the reunion.. plus the lead vocalist has completely lost his voice
so I said to hell with it, picked up Sonar, started trying to absorb everything I could about it and recording and had to sing the stuff myself. I never realized just how fun it could be to record something at home and have it sound pretty good. It's great fun!

I do have a song that has a little bit of a New Country twing to it. I'll upload that one next after I finish some vocal arrangements.

Sorry Craig, I apologize, your song sounds great, as for the Mix, I'm still learning that stuff myself. I was making a joke that I should'nt have with my reply, I apologize, lately there's been a joke on the internet going around about how so many country bands are  playing rock/80's music where people are replying how the band Florida-Georgia Line with the comments are not country music but they call themselves country music. I don't listen to the radio but I have heard a few of their tunes and how they can call conformity Country, I dunno.......

I know how you feel man, I quite playing for 20 years or so ago and then tried to get back into playing, but my instrument was so old it just give me anguish trying to play it. Then recently around Christmas I got a new "Beginner Guitar" nothing special but it will work for now and also recently purchased Sonar Pro, I am having a ton of fun with it. So I am working on things and music is FUN again for me also. I know how you feel, back in the 80's it was all EGO's and nobody I was around was serious about anything except getting drunk and playing fast to impress the chicks. One reason I just quite altogether and went to work for a long time.

You have a great arrangement with your songwriting, something unique in my opinion, your not trying to change who you are but expand on what you play. By that I mean a lot of people add RAP/COUNTRY/MIX-MASH Genre's when they run out of ideas but it doesn't sound like your doing that.

Everybody gets compared to somebody, And I guess that's how we try and understand something new. Your music reminds me of so many Artist, and those are Artist from the past that I listen to still today on CD's and such.

You have a great mix of a lot of artist from the 80's and I can't quite pick anyone particular to compare you to. I mean that as a compliment.

This sounds really great!!! I apologize if any of my comments sounded bad. Keep on keepin' on!!!! Looking forward to hearing more!!!!! Enjoyed hearing this!!!!

Hey no problem,  I wasn't offended at all....

I've come to the realization that I'm gonna stop trying to sound like Avenge Sevenfold..... Disturbed and Volbeat all rolled into one. I just don't have it in me but I do love the Heavy mixes of those artists and those who sound that way so If I can somehow incorporate that big raw energy into my stuff it might bring it to a place where it I'll love listening to it in my truck.

Ultimately it's all about the song. That's the hardest part... to create a good song that makes people feel and that has timeless truth rolled up inside it. I read somewhere that most of the older Pro Producers and Sound engineers refer to today's sound as "Big Mono".  That's such a perfect description..... but when you combine today's powerful sound with a good song it's something to behold.

The 70s and 80's had a lot of trite stuff but mixed in with "Mikey you're so Fine"were songs like Jay Ferguson's "Thunder Island"  That song is a masterpiece on so many levels but especially with the engineer's use of the stereo field and the placement of the bass guitar and piano in that mix.  It sounds kinda weird but that song brings tears to my eyes when I hear it on good headphones and then there's Joe Walsh's guitar work.....holy perfection........
Revisit that song when  you get a chance and you'll hear the genius in it!

Believe me.... I don't want everything that I puke out to sound like the 80s but if it does then I can live with it.
Me and my truck where I play "Craig's Greatest Hits"  My girl has been very patient with me but I imagine that if she hears any of those songs one more time she's gonna smash my computer with a hammer and she's a singer! ;-)
