I just felt sorry for him that whenever an update came out , he was at the table eating. He was fast though. He was only 3/4 of a day late.

Wow you have to be fast around here ..he he ...  bapu's post gets this

You know , I'm glad that you guys post these Reaper update threads
Last night I had gotten the update notice when I opened Reaper and I downloaded and updated ...
The thing is I put it out of my mind because I was doing something else musical ...

When I saw Larry's post I decided to watch both videos he had placed the links for ...
WOW man , I'm so happy I saw those videos ...Reaper is coming out w some real super cool functions ...

Why mention this ? had I not seen this thread and took a look at the links , Yeah my copy of Reaper still would have been updated ...then I would have been a dumb A$$ because I probably would have not seen the Video's

    all the best,

I wouldn't even know what most of those fixes mean nor an I involved enough in Reaper to come across them.

    Kite...

Exactly. Have beaten up Reaper for over a decade. Know way more about the program than Sonar, and come out of the closet that Reaper is my go to DAW for many reasons.
Still clueless about the vast majority of the fixes and enhancements over the last several years. The incredible geeks there are far beyond my mortal understanding.
I guess the program is getting better at a rapid pace by looking at the bean count of fixes and refinements. Just less stuff I can connect with to get excited about, or find any practical application for.

    Incredible, beautiful program nevertheless.

For $60 this blows similar priced DAWs out of the water like Tracktion. So does the professional license.  I'll bet a majority of users bought the when it came out to replace Cool Edit Pro.  I've had a license since v2.

It does run deep. I always see on other forums when someone speaks of a limitation and there is someone there to show how it's done.  Some have ditched Cubase for Reaper for orchestration.

I guess the cool thing to learn is how to make SWS extensions. Groove3 has videos on that.

    Absolutely...

SWS extensions something to get one's head around after a few deep breaths and a walk around the block. Extends function more than most of us can dream, and guess that this is what it's ultimately all about. Dream and be given the avenue to do it.

In the same vein, the Jesusonic plugs unique to Reaper. Has raised hell fire and brimstone condemnation for the name. Was introduced however with a reverent premise. If Jesus were here as a modern day rock musician, what plugins would he want to have available to properly shred away. What would have been Christ's standard.

The JS plugs are incredible, incredible text files allowing the end point user ability to reprogram the effects to one's own new creation. You got a tweek to a reverb, flange, comp, echo, then dive in and publish your own. Always used the stock JS's as a starting point to compensate for my ignorant inability to start programming from scratch.

Kite's advice about getting the $60 personal license can be taken to the bank and several more times around the block.

Adding SWS, ReaMenus and a tasty theme to Reaper take it to a whole new level.

Any of the LCS mod themes in the stash are worth checking out.

It's a nice update.  I've been using Reaper for a little under 2 months.

There are things about it that fascinate me, and some things that irritate me a bit.  But I was told it would take me about 2 months to get everything the way I want it.  I haven't even checked out the J-Sonic plugins yet.

Very glad I bought the $60 license.  It was cool that the first time I saw the 5.4 update was the same night I saw the early access for 17.03.  Fun.
