Interesting perspective,
 
In long lost times, there was no helmet for cyclists, bicycle or motorcycle.
 
There were no seat belts in cars.
 
In spite of lawyers, environmentalists, medical mandates, we all survived to adulthood in the absence of these devices.
 
Biggest loss was the open door to door front seat, exquisitely optimized for drive in movies, or detours with your date on a country road. Bucket seats was a major setback when trying to intimately communicate over the gear shaft mechanism.
 
Always trying to see the bright side of inevitable progress, but sometimes it takes a temporary back turn. Modern cars are not optimized for lovers

When they start breeding humans so dumb that they require a "Knife is sharp!" label on a knife, well, other things are going to be changed as well.  Not a evolutionary step forward IMO!

Now that I think about it, this is (as usual) mostly the Government's fault since they go out of their way to counteract Natural Selection.  Those best suited to bring good things to the human gene world are irresponsibly hampered and set back, while those on the fast track to getting a Darwin Award are singled out for complete Government assistance and support.  Even the programs they are put on encourage them to breed and NOT be useful to the community at large.

Fix the education system (to stop intellectually crippling people right off the bat based on the old premise that stoopid workers are manageable workers in jobs that no longer exist).
 
Abolish "abstinence only" nonsense and replace with proper sex ed (yanno... like actually learning how to NOT get someone knocked up/get knocked up and provide condoms for the little horny sh*tburgerz so they can actually use them BONUS: STD rate reduction).
 
Decriminalize all drugs and treat it as a public health issue instead of a criminal issue like Portugal did (but now is being fracked over due to underfunding and apathy despite MASSIVE reductions in addiction and crime rates).
 
Make sure every man and/or woman that is ready and willing and able to work HAS something to do (like school or public works or access to temp jobs, etc) and those who don't want to work or are too fuzzucked to work have a basic income that is enough to keep them from robbing people just to eat or pay rent.
