There were no seat belts in cars.
In spite of lawyers, environmentalists, medical mandates, we all survived to adulthood in the absence of these devices.
Biggest loss was the open door to door front seat, exquisitely optimized for drive in movies, or detours with your date on a country road. Bucket seats was a major setback when trying to intimately communicate over the gear shaft mechanism.
Always trying to see the bright side of inevitable progress, but sometimes it takes a temporary back turn. Modern cars are not optimized for lovers
