This is a tune I made up on the spot piddling around with my new Electric Guitar finger picking one morning a few months ago. I thought it turned out sounding fun to listen to.

I am playing a Epiphone Les Paul II, and honestly I couldn't be happier when it comes to using a pick and playing ROCK/METAL/POP type stuff with a pick, but I played this with my fingers. No reGERTS, I'm happy with the guitar.

I'm thinking of getting a telecaster type of guitar to play more finger picking stuff, but I'm not sure if that would be my best choice, I haven't been to the music shop and haven't tried all the toy's they have to offer when it comes to playing guitar.

Thing is I am just learning how to finger pick and what you hear is just me fishing for thoughts in the music I guess you might say. It thought it was fun to listen to so I thought I'd share it with others to hear here.

Thanks for taking the time to listen!

I know it ain't perfect, it's just a start on my playing this style and this new instrument you might say. And having the blues one lonely morning.....

Sounds good to me!  This number seems as if it combines a bit 'o the Blues and a bit 'o country.  Hey, wait a minute --- that is Rockabilly isn't it?   Are you picking with just fingers or pick and finger.  For me the pick and finger style is an incredibly difficult style.  Unfortunately, it is a staple of the more country style of Rockabilly.

Some nice pickin' there pardner!! I really enjoyed listening to it a few times (I lurve me the blues) and even was getting some ideas to play out some complimentary melodies/solo's on this .

I could definitely imagine a walking bass line going with this. Very nice upbeat bluesy playing SN.....
Well done!!

Thanks Freddy J, You are spot on with what you are saying, it is a little bit 'o blues and a little bit 'o country. Probably Rockabilly. It's just me playing. Actually what I've been doing with the finger picking, I have no idea, I just search for chords and sounds and roll with it, no particular style and no particular guidance on anything, just me and my guitar.

I haven't tried anything yet using a pick and finger style guitar playing, although I suspect it would be really difficult.

I feel more comfortable playing music on certain things just playing with my fingers, and other stuff just a guitar pick. I'm just trying to learn and find my way for now. That's what I was doing on this tune I made up.

Thanks again!

Another good one in the oven...    I really liked some of those pull-off lines, along the chording/melodies.

Thank you for taking the time to listen and comment. It was fun to play, one of the few mornings I didn't wake up grumpy you might say. LOL! I'm just starting to learn how to play fingerstyle guitar, there is probably a ton of things I done wrong, but I was just trying to find my way at the time.

Thanks again!

Thank you for the kind compliments. I really am just learning how to finger pick. I had a classical guitar for years, I actually quite playing for 20 years or so, although that being said I was never no pro to start with. I took 2 years of guitar lessons "USING A GUITAR PICK" and just quite in the late 80's early 90's because there were too many ego's in my area when it come to wanting to start a band, that and some people who thought a show meant PARTY and get drunk. That's not me at all when it comes to music.

Now day's I am and always will be all about the song, that's me, no ego's.

I have no idea what I am doing on fingerpicking, but I will tell you how I started, it was so simple. I knew a little bit about chords and such things, but what I did was I learned how to play Kansas song "Dust In The Wind", which I think is called a certain type of finger picking. Not sure, but I think that is called Travis Picking, not sure about that, like I said I am a beginner. But since learning that I just started playing chords and combining my own inspired ideas to what I am playing. Honestly I don't even think anymore when fingerpicking.

Thanks again!

Thank you! Maybe I shouldn't have called it "Morning Blues" but I did make it up and record it in the morning time, that's why I called it that, I was feeling a little blue at the time you might say.

Thanks again!
