This is basically what you might call a curated orchestra. Paul picked what he felt were the best samples from Sonatina, VSCO2, Iowa, No Budget and some other sources and then worked on them to create as much cohesion as possible.

Yup, dropped it into Sonar via Plogue sforzando, added some BREVERB2, sounds sweet!!!

I really like how the patches marked "normal-mod-wheel" use the mod wheel to delay the attack, allowing for some expressive legato playing style.

Did this get mentioned? Paul has released a new version of VPO with all the sustains looped. No more short woodwinds samples, you can now blow your brains out for as long as you like. Its SFZ and works well with Sforzando. Oh and its free.

How does one go about getting this ?Do I have what I need to play these instruments in SPlat ?
Or Do I have to find and download a 3rd party player first ?

they sound real good , that's for sure

Kenny

Just go grab the free Plogue sforzando.  It's a sfz file player.  It can even open Dimension Pro files.
https://www.plogue.com/products/sforzando/

Then download the VPO2 zip file and put it somewhere you like.

Under settings in sforzando, there is a place to select your user files path.  Just set the location you unzipped the orchestra files to.  All set!

You can browse to the instruments by using the dropdown selector in the "Instrument:" window.  Scroll down to "User" and you will find them there.

Hey abacab ,

Hey Kenny!

Glad to hear that you like it.  Can't beat free, especially when it sounds like this!  There obviously was a lot of effort involved in putting this together!

Somehow I can't help getting this weird picture in my head of you wailing on that MIDI guitar and driving a full orchestra with it!

So now you can Rock That, too!!!

abacab ,

This is great ...
I have been playing with the library posted in the OP.  It is very good .I'm really digging the sounds that it has.

Thank you once again bigcatt

Today's free software shopping spree has netted me the player , a super nice sounding library , and then to top it all off  , all the Dimension Pro sounds come up in the player ...Sweet ...
Yes , I love the simplicity of this setup , It sounds Fantastic , it's a light CPU load and I already have it on more than one computer ...

What you have said about me Rocking it out using the midi guitar ...he he he ..
Now I got the visual you just mentioned stuck in my head  ...help I can't un see it only my dog gets to see that
If I ever decide to do a u tube video of Rocking it out on The Midi Guitar .
I might have to hire some young pretty boy to gyrate his hips flail his arms and make lemon faces while he dances around holding one of my guitars
I had gotten beaten with the fugly stick one time too many in the past few years . So I'll just have to settle for being  the guy behind the curtain making all the noise ...
