It's definitely no Secret, but most men and women can certainly benefit from it.

FWIW I don't have a degree or any certifications.

Luckily, you don't need a degree to be the bass player (specially if you have an Alembic).

I can see Medical Degrees and Legal Degrees.

Isn't the rest just "training".

I think you will find that Medical and Law degrees, are in fact, just training. They are pretty much limited to theory and practice of very limited islands in the vast sea of intellectual endeavor to what is actually needed to produce a product. They are, in effect, engineering training. My Bachelor in Liberal Studies was far more inclusive and "educational" than my Doctorate in Medicine, and it was not all that impressive either. Education is learning that promotes other learning, judgement about ambiguous realities, compassion and understanding of complex situations, and flexibility of thought. Of course, none of that is guaranteed by any particular curriculum, or certified by any particular degree. Much of the promise of what was once called education, has been lost in the modern trend to make the potential employee pay for his own focused job training by acquiring a salable degree. While I would be reluctant to drive across a bridge that was designed by someone without appropriate training, I would be just as reluctant to trust his judgement as to whether building the bridge was itself a good idea.

Yeah, basically agree with this.

Phrmacy doctorate in my case was just a license to learn after being beaten to perdition and back on the killing floor. Took 15 years to actually deserve the hourly rate. Not complaining though... Didn't kill or permanently disfigure too many people in the later years of my career and consults. But please, be nice to your local pharmacist.

Fed A&P aircraft license was to die for fixing and writing off the mechanical labriniths. Big responsibility. Certifying that some dude can be up there beyond the survival crash limits and land safely in whatever he was flying. Earned some respectible bucks there, but your name is signed on to everything you signed off. Can come back to haunt you decades later.

Most important thing is that Bapu has some certificate. Proves that he is not no more igorant no more.

Yes!  Increase in pay should rise as responsibility rises.  In other words the more liability and risk a person takes on, there should be an increase in pay.  We don't want our doctors to be poor because then lawyers would have no one to sue!

I've heard you can skip the first two degrees and get the third degree just by getting married.
