Hate to say it but I learned virtually all my music theory before college ,in private lessons. College was a total waste.  Its where my postulate of education was formalised:  academia is entertainment.  And to think those poor kids go into debt,  when public broadcasting is free.

While I would be reluctant to drive across a bridge that was designed by someone without appropriate training, I would be just as reluctant to trust his judgement as to whether building the bridge was itself a good idea.

Shirley, this MUST be how this saying came to be.....cry me river, build a bridge and get over it?
Or was that from the school of tough love/common sense?

Nowadays, me thinks it's much better to be certified and proficient at a trade than get a degree.....YMMV.

So then Frank Abagnale Jr. really was a lawyer (albeit under a false name so it probably would not count)?
