You gotta love how they want your money on a certain day but, if you're getting money back, you have to wait and wait and wait...
 
(Ok, to be fair, my Federal refund was sent incredibly fast but, a state refund - for a state I don't even live in - is going into its third month.)

Last year I got a letter saying that I had underpaid my tax by £0.01. I hadn't because I had paid  exactly the amount that they requested in the statement that they sent me. The letter went on to say that seeing as my "underpayment" was such a small amount that I didn't have to pay it.

I would have wriitem them a check/cheque/draft for £0.01. Then again, I'm a dolt.

I paid $2K for mine in 1978.

Then I guess you paid $975 - $1275 too much then...
