It wasn't snow, IMO, more like soft hail  (At least here 20 km north of Helsinki).
I took the risk and put the summer tyres on, anyway.
It's like when you light a cigarette on a bus stop, your bus comes immediately.
When you got summer tyres changed, next morning there's black ice or snow... 

Is snow unusual in Helsinki? Now snowing in Dallas might be a news story.

Hawaii's overrated. Nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there. It's an island, you know. Lots of water between there and, well, anywhere. Never been to Finland, but I expect it would be a more interesting place to spend some time. And if you hate it, Sweden's right next door.

What's really weird is that I'm NOT in Helsinki, yet it's still snowing there! 

I'm on the Gulf Coast.  We're suffering under a brutal 76 degrees with a southerly breeze.  Got nothing to do except watch that emerald surf roll in and out.  Guess I'll go grab a shrimp po' boy.
