Johnny B Goode

I've had something against that song ever since we played in a talent show in high school.  We played Suite Madam Blue by Styx and NAILED it but lost to a guy playing Johnny B Goode behind his back...  (Sign of the times, this was the late 70's...)

Not a big fan of CB, although I recognise his place in the scheme of things. 'You Never Can Tell' always stands out to me though, I like the story in that one.

Hi,

I am not sure that any song of his stands out for me.

In this case, I think his attitude and playfulness with his music, is much more important and gives the venue of rock'n'roll a personality that is much more important and valuable to the music itself.

I think his playfulness is what helped extend this to the rest of the world ... I do not think it was just one song, or one set of lyrics, or one girl ...
