Well, it does suck, but I had long given up on it ever happening, even though I was very excited about it - until Cakewalk failed to meet their deadline.

Glad I got an old PC.

In the meantime, I'll still give this Cakewalk Damage Control Edition freebie a spin, just for fun.

Yeah, definitely a drag for those excited about it (and especially those who plonked for the lifetime deal specifically for Mac development). They did a bit of a faceplant with this one. Probably shouldn't have hyped it so much and/or waited until more tests had been done before announcing.

I was more referring to the SONAR sub forum likely turning into Thunderdome (again) for the next couple months. The thread up there got real big, real fast. Haven't clicked it yet.

Must... resist... rubbernecking.

But wait!  Mac now supports windows!

Well, it does seem to work ok on my old MacBook Pro - even just with the built-in audio interface. Should be fine with the Focusrite. And with 64 tracks available, I could probably load all my old projects as I don't think I ever used more than 40 in the most extreme cases back in the days.

It's nice to finally get a glimpse at the redesigned interface and to get re-aquainted with a few old favorites, such as the Sonitus Suite.

In a way, I'm almost happy that they cancelled it as I didn't want to upgrade the OS on my DAW and I would have had to in order to run it. The laptop will do the trick for this.

So... Thank you Cakewalk.

Or as I like to call it: Gothic outburst of joy, level - Robert Smith.
