The what to do with old Edirol DA-2496 interface inspired me to ask this question. I've had this VM-3100 Pro for a long time but I haven't used it in years. I'm going through a re-model and have my studio completely disassembled, if there's a productive use for the VM-3100 when I rebuild my studio I'll keep it. Any Ideas? Thanks.

Might come in handy if you run short of inputs, as it has 24bit S/PDIF and ADAT optical  I/O. Probably best to keep it as it would have little resale value these days.

do you have the rbus card  and cable that goes with it?

they make good door stops.  I have a vm3100 pro and an SI24 that Roland abandoned

Yup, I got the rbus card. The ADAT only transfers 2 channels. I got them both as part of a studio pack. It came with Logic which I quickly abandoned for Sonar 1. It was actually a cool little set up. I bought it when Mars music was going out of business.
