Thanks John. The studio has gone through a few changes, not many, since the time the pics were posted. I hope to update the site sometime in the next six months.

Healthwise..... It is a day-to-day thing. That is all I will say online.

As for SAW.... I was very interested in it, but could justify the then $2500 price tag with another $400 for the MIDI plugin. So, I went another direction.

Thanks Steve. I would like to get one of these units by the end of the summer if all goes well. First things first though.

Thank you for the well wishes.

Yeah Chaz, I know what you mean, I don't speak of those things much either. That new Medicare sure has not helped either, more so in California. I could not resist SAW. I had been steady with CW for 10 years and needed a change, a possitive one. So I did months of research and I blew the wad on SAW. For what I do it is perfect a lot of acoustic stuff is the other people I record. And for my stuff, things are good. I wish ya the best and I'll drop you a line sometime. I'm still tracking for my CD and I'm not going to touch the mastering....

I have a question (very cool set ups BTW) to all of those that use the omnidesk (or omnidesk like) type of desks. How does it effect speaker sound (bass in particular). I had a no name type and really liked how organized it makes everything. But my mackies were way to bass heavy on it. Has this been an issue at all?

I find it easier to mix now with the Omnirax Force36 desk.

Before I had the tweeters were ear level with studio speaker stands... which is what conventional wisdom teaches. This desk puts the woofers at ear level. I was concerned about that so I raised my speakers to the level of the desk with boxes underneath before I bought it. To my surpise... I liked it better.

I used to have to compensate for heavy bass on other systems while mixing. Now, what I hear is what I get on other systems. Translates very well.

YMMV, depending upon your ears and your mixing environment.

Here's my place: http://www.SORStudios.com

You can click on the studio sampler link, and that will take you to my media player. Every band that does a recording at my studio gets a free website with a free virtual media player for their recorded music.

The media player is a 'virtual' version of my actual control room. Check out the working light dimmer, the volume which also controls the mixing board and the real-time analog clock!

The current band posted was my latest project.

See the gear list as well.

I don't have a big fancy studio or anything but, I thought I would share it with you anyway.

I started making modifications to the new desk I bought (two days ago) in hopes to having something that is easy to get around and "grow" with me.

Well, here is the desk right before I put a hurtin' on it.

Before

Here is a close up of the rack.

After

I also put a hanger for my headphones and I plan on doing more to this poor desk.

From a far

Most of my stuff is still packed up from when I moved my hole room around.

Have a good one.

Mike

P.S. I'd like to add my well wishes to chaz as well. Hope everything works out for ya, bud!
