FWIW, my tube amps have been silent for a long time.  I either take direct outs, or more often, fire up AT4, GR5, GTR, etc.

Wow, I'm just imagining my "profiled amps" above being silent too!  Best of both worlds???  Mmmmm...

Even if that girl was not even one tenth as good looking as she is for this photo comparison . I would still prefer my tube amps over amp sim / modelers
FWIW , I may feel different if I had the Kemper , or the Fractual ...even then ...who really knows ?

Shoot!  I forgot about Kenny too!  Someone needs to warn him.  I'm not sure if his ol' ticker can handle seeing the "profiles" in this thread!

I do appreciate you thinking of me and my health  Kenny's a big boy ,he can handle all the heat in the kitchen

Sounds like maybe you need to do some sampling

My humble little Fender Champ tube amp gets more "Air Time " being played over here than all the amp sims and modelers I have and own combined ..

I'm not an office worker
I sure don't want to sit in front of a computer when it comes time to play or when it's time to just let off a little steam

It doesn't matter what guitar I plug into my Champ ...it sounds warm and inviting at any volume ...even at whisper volume...
The other thing is I don't have to arm wrestle with The Amp Sim Ice Pic Monster  ...that sucka is a real joy killer ...

Its true that I may be forced to have to use amp sims late at night for recording guitar direct ..
We all know that 3 AM is not the time of day to have to talk to the cops ...

But damn  I could have bought a Marshall stack w 2 cabs for what I have invested in amp sims so far ...it's a good thing I held on to all my tube amps

rant over

PS even a Yamaha THR 5 kicks the pants out of most of theses high dollar amp sims

I have a THR10.  Rockin little amp.  Makes a great "nano-PA" too.  The battery option is really handy for those parking lot-trunk of car guitar purchases.  I got a great deal deal on a LP VM because I had my THR with me.  Pickup selector was cutting out, so the offer dropped

Well, my middle-age GAS crisis started with a small Marshall practice amp and a Line6 Pod Pro.  That blossomed into LOTS of tube amps.

Now that I've been forced to do it all again from nothing, I see myself starting with a Kemper and powered PA speakers.  After that?  Who knows!

I think your idea of a tube amp and my idea of a tube amp may involve different stokes for different folks ..

FWIW,   as far as the imaginary conquests go , you got yours , I got mine ...

I do hope you finally launch and get yourself a Kemper someday ...

As for me ,  I'll be the old dude driving the Bright Yellow Lambo with the Vintage Dumble Overdrive Special in the front seat
