Well, my middle-age GAS crisis started with a small Marshall practice amp and a Line6 Pod Pro.  That blossomed into LOTS of tube amps.

Now that I've been forced to do it all again from nothing, I see myself starting with a Kemper and powered PA speakers.  After that?  Who knows!

I think your idea of a tube amp and my idea of a tube amp may involve different stokes for different folks ..

These were just some of my flock.  The Egnater was a custom job by Bruce which basically made it the same as a Bogner Ecstasy.  The Marshall head is a '79 JMP modded by Mike Soldano giving me both the thin JCM-800 tones plus a whole 'nother level.  That Sovtek Mig-50 had the best clean I'd ever heard and the THD Univalve allowed me to plug and play with a bunch of different tubes on-the-fly (i.e., no biasing required).

When I was forced to liquidate I had over $134k invested in my studio and gear.  The Kemper would give me a LOT of variety to play with until I decide what direction to go in.  Heck, you're talkin' with someone who still doesn't even have a car!  It's going to be a while.  I'm not a fan of cheap gear because it's cheap.

Oh yeah, unlike you, I'm more like Edge (with even less ability), someone who hides his lack of talent behind quality gear and lots of effects!  LMAO.

(So, basically, I'll be the guy in the boring Camry with a beautiful sounding profile of that Dumble!  )

Just stating the obvious here my friend ... it is true , you did have some nice amps back in the day ..
Now you have nothing left in an amp to profile anymore and no way of profiling it
I do hope you find your way back to playing music again

Ah, but you're missing the beauty of the Kemper Kenny!   Sure, you can always profile "your" amps, but you can also download the profiles created by others (which include some of those coveted Dumble profiles too!).  Thousands to pick and choose from.

Oh Craig ! what am I gonna do with you ?

FWIW, I never once said I had a thing against The Kemper ..How could I  if I have never even tried one ?
When The Kemper first came out I had already made up my mind that I wanted to get one ..
the thing is , I have no intention of selling any of my vintage tube amps to get one
As far as I can tell they pump out Kempers on a daily basis ....
Last I heard ....a 1966 Fender Vibrolux Reverb was last pumped out in 1966
