I agree that it needs a thoroughly unique name that's a rock solid trademark with excellent SEO potential. Kind of like Xerox or Kodak. Trouble is it's genuinely hard to come up with a combination of letters that scans well, conveys the purpose of the software and isn't already used by something or somebody else.
"Aud" has been used already. Audition, Audacity.
"Son" has obviously been used. Sonar, Halion Sonic, Soniccouture etc.
"Wav" - Waves, a million other VST's.
"Harm" as in "harmonic" and "harmony" - probably done to death.
"Mus" - hmm! Surprisingly, I can't think of any prominent DAW's or VST's which start with those letters. Might be an avenue to explore.
"Phas" - hmm.
"Amp" - possible, but there is already an Amplitube and a company called Ampology. Ampri? Amphox? LOL dear me.
"Chrom" - Chromax? A brand of golf balls. Chromix? A color management company. Both awful anyway.
"Samp" - done to death.
"Stereo" - done to death.
"Sig" as in "Signal" - doesn't exactly roll off the tongue.
Boy is this hard. You can see why people are paid large sums of money to rebrand companies.
Besides which, I bet they've already decided on a name and we're just wasting our time!
