What about such name... Sonar.
Well know on market. No need to convenience people including new potential users it is quite mature DAW? Less money spent for marketing.

Changing name will nothing change for good for current or future users. Change really needed is to improve audio engine and make it less crashy. Finishing already started features with imperfect workflow is another topic worth to focus. And then constantly introduce new workflow improvements and new features/content.

Bandlab (Meng) has already said that it won't be called Sonar.

Meng said the name SONAR won't continue. But what happens with "Cakewalk"? Is it confirmed it will be still the first name or not?

Cakewalk and Sonar are not considered very highly by many that use other DAW's.  When I talk to others in recording and mention Sonar I get strange looks or sneers.   A name change may be the best thing - sort of frees it from the past (and many owners).  What's wrong with just calling it "BandLab" or "BandLab Pro"?

How about "ProLab" or "SoundLab" if they are not already copyrighted?

From Meng:

"For the time being, we can all refer to it as TDDFKAS (The Desktop DAW Formerly Known As SONAR until we have a proper announcement about it."
