How about Sounder ?

sounder comparative form of sound: more sound

sounder (plural sounders)
  • Something, or someone who makes a sound.
  • (nautical) A device for making soundings at sea.
  • This would provide continuity with the SONAR tradition very well, since SONAR and Sounder both have to do with the sea, and also with sound.
  • "Sounder" also conveys the concept of "more stable" (and who would argue with that!). The "Lab" could be appended to either end: LabSounder, SounderLab.

I was thinking along similar lines, i.e. AudioLab, SoundLab or SonicLab. Unfortunately it turns out that these names are already in use by other companies.
