Then Cakewalk became Sonar and I had to stop calling myself that.

Sonar is a product name, not a company name. The band Live wasn't affected by Ableton Live. Likewise the rapper named Logic wasn't affected by Apple Logic.

Cakewalk was the product name, then it became Sonar

Originally:
Cakewalk by Twelve Tone Systems
then became
Sonar by Cakewalk

How about BandLab Pro DAW. It is simple, says exactly what the product is, isn't gimmicky and won't be outdated right away. After all, the <product> will only rise from the ashes once. Or has one of the funny now names, but won't sustain a serious conversation for long (see my previous suggestion that has that fun initialism).

We need to get away from the industry wide reputation of Cakewalk SONAR and bugs - whether they are real or otherwise doesn't matter now. They are a stigma to leave behind.

It's fun to speculate and have "out-there" ideas, and many have been great to awesome. But they probably won't sell a DAW.

"Pro Tools" is a no-nonesense name. Studio One is too, and also implying they are a first choice for studio software. BandLab should consider something similar, direct and to the point.

I will admit that Logic, CuBase, Reason and Reaper don't fit my model, so quite likely I'm completely wrong. It certainly won't be the first or last time.

I'm liking Spectrum a lot.

Me too!

Spectrum is the name of a major US cable/internet provider. Regardless of a name's standalone quality, it's not a good idea to use one which is already in use.

Besides, any good name needs a misspelling and must include "x" or "z" or start with an "e" if you want to appeal to millennials.

So e-Zpexxtrum it is.

Since Bandlab will try to turn things around, how about RANOS?

As long as it's not in the same rang of business types you're good. For instance...
TriStar Arms, Ltd
TriStar Pictures
TRISTAR Productions
Tristar Insurance Group

Not to mention it's the name of a product not a business so unless there's an existing DAW with that name we're good.
