Is this a good deal?  Are the mics good for drums, acoustic and vocals?

kinda an open-ended question.  The 990 is a typical chinese made ldc.  If you need a ldc and don't have a  lot of money it is a good price - it is usually $100 by itself I think.  The 991 - I don't know about.  I would imagine it would work OK where you need a sdc, tho I wouldn't throw out my oktava's or replace my 81s.
 
One thing is M. Joly of Octavamod mentioned on FB.  He mods the 990 for $399 - and that mod has gotten good reviews.  He puts his own '47 head on it which makes it more like a fet newman.  Some think modding is silly - but I got a Guitar Center special Oktava 319 modded years later and it sounds very, very good.  Buy now, pay later.

 Not IMO unless you just need more mics to mic a kit or something, I doubt they will ever be your go to mics. I got that package several years ago on sale in a package deal with a line6 UX2. I used the vocal mic once and that was enough for me to donate it to the church. I've used the instrument mic on a few occasions to record acoustic nothing special, it just works.

I would never ever get this set when there's the MXL Cr24 set for only a little more money. They're a hundred million times better (which means quite good, actually).

I had two MXL 990's.  Never liked them as they were too trebly.  There is a mod for them (electronics) on the gearslutz forum and I considered that one time, but sold them when I got a "real" studio condenser mic.   I paid around $50 when I bought the MXL 990's (they were on sale).
