Please don't let that turn you off. I have bought quite a few sound libraries from them (not the flute one though!) and the sounds are great and they are great to deal with. Just the flute sound is little over priced! You don't have to buy it!

I suspect that those flute loops are a gag product. Maybe an April Fools joke that they didn't take down?

No I am not sure but don't believe it is a gag. They say it is the best Jazz flautist of all time doing them so they are obviously charging for them.

When I studied my Jazz degree in the mid 80's there was a girl in that course who I believe is the best Jazz flute player of all time.  She is just unbelievable.  She can play solos over any chord changes chorus after chorus and they just get better and better.  She has got a fantastic tone and can play all the flute family including wooden flutes.

I have got samples of her myself which are amazing.  I got her into my studio and recorded her pretty damn quick! Maybe I should sell them for $20K. And cut her in of course.

There is also this, the SAWStudio DAW, a hopelessly outdated DAW from the early 90's (with an interface frozen in that era) which costs a whopping $2500 for the full version. As far as I know, it doesn't even support MIDI editing without a costly add-on.

http://www.sawstudio.com/index.htm

The website's frozen in the 1990's too....complete with super-low resolution videos that aren't even embedded, you have to download them and view in your own player.

On the plus side, apparently the whole thing is written in assembly language.

I recall trying a demo of SAW many years ago.  It was one of the first DAWs for Windows.  I am surprised that it's still around, but judging by it's modest system requirements and reputed stability, I should not be surprised.  I took a look at their forums tonight and noticed about 15,000 threads and nearly 500 active members online ...

Here's something that makes me think it's some kind of gag or marketing gimmick - they once slashed the price to $0.95

Makes sense really. Charge a ridiculous price that's so insane that it gets write ups on blogs and forums. People follow the link, and bam, they're on the Loop Loft site. Might as well take a look around while you're there.....$$$$

I bet most of those active members have been users since the 90's. I can't imagine they're attracting much new business these days.

Yup.  They seem to have issued an update last year but their store link seems to be MIA at the moment ...

And this Facebook post from The Loop Loft seems to add weight to the theory that it's a gimmick....

Note the comment from someone who said they Googled this flautist but couldn't find mention of him anywhere except the Loop Loft site.

That there Cedar thang has worked so well over the interweb that it has totally "limited" me from from even listening to it, not to mention thinking of buying it. Even when I tried to pull out my credit card from my wallet it stopped me about thigh-high and screamed "NosirreeBobTail!!! What are you? A Moron?? Put that credit card back in yor wallet this instant and drop and give me twenty, you maggot!!!!"

So, I guess I have to say it works a treat!
