that's professional niche software that certain businesses will need/buy ... a bit different to a limiter which has alternatives from competitors ... specialized engineering software can cost more than $100K per license (no kidding), especially if the company has a unique position in the market (let's not call it monopoly even though that's what it is in cases)

To be fair you can also rent it for a week for a couple hundred dollars. I should think that's their main revenue stream with Capstan.

Cedar Audio is legit.  Their plugins are aimed at post production.  Here's the SOS review:
