What do you guys think is the best graphics card for audio DAWs?

What is the majority of users here using?

I think personally ATI cards are the better choice..

If your Running X1 with no problems, what card do you have??

Any ATI or nVidia based budget card will do the trick.  If you have no intention of hitting up a 3D game on your DAW, there's no reason to spend over $100 and should be able to get something near half that cost. Basic criteria:
Fanless
Dual DVI outputs
... that's about it.

I'm using a fanless nVidia 7600GS.

I have 2 Nvidia 8800GTS in Sli.

Unless you plan to spend $$ on the high end ATI cards, I would just stick with Nvidia.

For image quality, nothing beats a Matrox card.  However, I believe that none of their cards have been updated to work with Windows 7 yet.  I'm still running XP, so this is not a problem for me.

See i have  a nvidia 8600 gt andon xp i get DPC latency spikes every time i move the curser or a a window, pretty much anythingthat moves causes latency...

So im lookin to swap it out...

And yes i tried to fix it, nothing will help, i am positive its the card though...

Graphics card for PC gamers to enjoy gaming at its best. But most people find it difficult to find the best graphics card for your laptop or desktop. Now there are some things you take into account the possibility of obtaining the best graphics card.

I have a Matrox QID PCIe card (quad) and its working fine with Win 7 64bit

And yes, matrox is well known for working fine with DAWs AFAIK.
I've had 3 Matrox G550 earlier, they've all been perfect.

I've always used Matrox before but swapped to ATI HD4550s in both machines when I went Win7 x64.

Both doing fine.

May I ask how you have come to this conclusion? Typically, the best way to determine what is causing spikes is to disable devices... but disabling a graphics card isn't really an option (for obvious reasons like not being able to see the DPC graph anymore! :p)

You sure it's not your mouse? (more specifically your USB controller/hub in which the mouse is connected to). I say this because even when you are doing nothing, the screen is still being updated 60+ times per sec by the graphics card. So you would still get DPC spikes even when not moving the windows etc if it was graphics.

PS - Are all drivers up to date? {Chipset (for USB etc), Video card, mouse, etc}.

Long version:
I'm running a Gigabyte Radeon 5750 Silent Cell. Works a treat...fanless.
I've also got a Gigabyte 5770(which was in my DAW at first) in another computer, and that's the most powerful fanless card out at the moment(as far as I'm aware). Problem was the 5770 was so heavy it was physically bending my motherboard's PCIe connector(P5Q-Deluxe), so I had to get the smaller 5750 for my DAW, and put the heavier one onto a newer motherboard(P7P55D-E LX) for one of my kids PC's. This MB doesn't bend from the weight at all.
Funnily enough I now have more fans(controlled by a Lamptron Touch fan controller), than I did before. Or in other words getting a fanless graphics card, hasn't resulted in a quieter case yet...as I've compensated with extra case fans..lol I guess I've got more control over those fans than I would with one onboard a graphics card, but still... ;)

Short version:
I've got a Gigabyte 5750 Silent Cell on the DAW and love it!
