My Roland PC 180 has been dying a slow death.
The A-49 looks like its next generation and is about the same price I think I paid 25 years ago for the PC180     So it's a no brainer for me what to buy.

Butt!
Bonus is it looks like it includes }Sonar LE. "Bundled with Cakewalk SONAR LE software"

But now the question is, which version? X series or 8.5?
I don't need 8.5 LE because I have Producer, But I haven't upgraded to the x series yet strictly because I don't feel like spending my money there right now. But A free version would be cool because if I use it, I will get my feet wet and be ready for the day I have to make the plunge.

I looked up Sonar LE in the above link search function. It shows a Sonar X1 and a 8.5 version. Guess X2 is not there yet.

"This software is bundled free-of-charge with selected Roland and Cakewalk products and is not sold separately."
Interesting that you can actually get your hands on good old 8.5 for free no less,

but, it is not clear which versions are included with the purchase of any Roland product.

Sooo, anybody bought a Roland product lately and which LE`version was in the box?

On Sweetwater, they explicitly say "X1 LE".

Thanks Dave, funny they are not giving that particular detail on the Cakewalk store site.
Also interesting that Tom Lee Music is only $159 Can.

The US stores are all $179. It's normally the opposite. I live right on the boarder so easy to shop both sides.

Not much info about LE and the forum is about one post a month.
I have a feeling that if I install X1 LE it will use my existing VST folders and will work more or less 90% of what am utilizing in 8.5 Producer.

But wasn't X1 the buggy version?

X1 started out really buggy, but settled down by the end of its life cycle. The version you'll get with the keyboard could be any of the releases, possibly requiring you to get an update. Yes, it'll use your existing folders for plugins. A nice benefit from doing that is you'll get a few updated files in the bargain. But it won't interfere with your 8.5 installation at all.

Hmm so now it looks like you'll be getting Sonar?LE with the purchase of a Gibson Guitar or a Tascam interface!
