I failed miserably in Math throughout my education so I dont get the equation but I am going to be pedantic for a moment, the text read the Bat is ONE DOLLAR MORE not one dollar and some cents more so yea quick to judge thing but thats how the text literally reads

The text reads ONE DOLLAR MORE THAN THE BALL. You left out the most critical part of the text.
