I lost respect for that family when Windsor Castle caught fire.

They didn't insure it because the costs were prohibitively high.  Then, when they needed it, they pulled out an obscure 500-year old law that said the public had to pay the repair/reimbursement costs anyway!  

Is it only American politics that we aren't allowed to talk about? There are far greater political issues than the Queen to discuss, like human Cheeto's in public office.

Unless one is a cheeto oneself.  Have more empathy!

Under British rules our Royal family is apolitical, they are basically a living tourist attraction that brings more money into the country than it costs to maintain them.  "Stories" like the one re-posted in the OP are simply to cash in on the tinfoil hat brigade and sell more newspapers, thus making more money off the back of the very people they're complaining about...

I heard, today, that Mr G. Osborne, a UK politician, earns £650000.00 a year for working four days per month advising a US global investment management corporation. I certainly raised an eyebrow at that...

Yes he was quite popular from 2002 - 2005 and earned a considerable sum of money in the states. Still, The Osbournes didn't get good ratings on IMDb.....only 5.5/10......quite sad indeed.
