I think my most often used freebie though is Tone Projects' Bass Lane ...  I've often looked for a free 64-bit equivalent but have always drawn a blank. There seems to be nothing else like it for free.

Have you tried Leslie Sanford Bass Tightener? Sorry I can't post a link - virgin post.

Also, you could try the "Mono Bass" preset in LP EQ.

I won a copy of Falcon on KVR, so that would be the winner.

I agree wholeheartedly on the Eventide and Boscomac freebies, as well. Just superb, although Boscomac is technically donationware.

I almost forgot about one of my all time favorite synths, Crystal.  I've used it in several songs over the years and it can be found here: http://www.greenoak.com/crystal/dnld2.html

GK Amplification LE bass amp sim.

I found this gem recently having asked the question on this forum about a decent amp sim for bass guitar.

I am thrilled with the sound – I got the free LE version, and I may upgrade to the full version, but to be honest, the sound I get from the LE is so good, I might not bother.

As witness, it is features heavily in my latest song – see signature below. Shameless plug!

CA-2A, forgot about that one, thanks.

I'm amazed that no one has mentioned Audio Damage's Rough Rider compressor. It's my first choice when I want to smash my drums and percussions. Absolutely brilliant at it.

Triangle II.  I might actually still use it if they were to update to 64 bit.

Sandford Phaser CM was free and it's my goto phaser. It was on the accompanying disk with an issue of Computer Music.

I'm very fond of MrRay22, the Rhodes/Wurliter electric piano plugin by GSi. It's a bit buggy, but I still use it a lot, despite the fact that GSi have released other products that are meant to supersede this one. It came free but is really donationware. I made a donation.
