Here's what I have figured out so far...press a key on your controller keyboard e.g. C3. That will appear on the input (lower) keyboard on the screen. Then you can either click with a mouse on the notes on the upper keyboard that will play when you play that key or select Menu --> {chord type} and select whichever chord you want from the list. You can do this for every key on the lower keyboard. For any keys you want to pass through unaffected to the output just shift-click them so they turn orange. I was able to set up a load of keys and save this under Program 1 (click arrow to the right and press save) - I created a midichords folder under my documents to save programs.  To load it back in repeat the above but select the file by clicking once and don't click save (I couldn't find an actual load button).

Here's a list of plugins. All free and grea especially the if the budget is tight.

G VST whole slew of plugins
efm VSTs mostly drum machine type plugs
Antress Modern a set of replicas of the analog hardware that helped kick off the whole recording scene
Sound fx. Is a collection of sound fx that are put in folders off sound names but the files are t differentiated well

Zinc, I just got back to this thread and thanks so much for your help.  You gave me a great place to start from, and I'm going to dig in.  This is sooo cool.
