The music society at the university I went to. I got to play the piano, timpani, and sing in a choir.
 
I would have continued such hobbies afterwards, but I couldnt find any free choirs / orchestras, only ones that Id have to pay for to join which put me off.
 
So now I have no fun. Band camp was the most fun thing ever for me cos Im a super geek.

Seems the same over here.
My wife's choir doesn't cost her money, but there's  a lot of fundraising work to compensate for that.
 
I'd love to perform more, but everything worthwhile either costs too much time or money.

I like the idea of choirs, the teamwork and camaraderie.  However, I don't like music if it sounds awful.  I cringe at church sometimes.  We're spose to all be happy and gay at church, but if the music sounds like a bleeting goat, the message gets skewed.  BTW the other day at church the priest had just started his sermon when this old man shouts *KEEP IT SHORT!*.  That man deserves a medal, no?

I actually like Christian music.

Did I say I didn't like sacred music?  I just said I don't like it poorly performed.  Do you think Bach's choirs , when he was kapelmeister sounded like bleeting goats?
