For a mostly faithful version, this is spot on Steve, can't hear anything out of place here. Excellent work.

Nice work. Seems like a mountain of a project to tackle!

Did you include the dog whistle sound at the end? I wonder if Cakewalk will in include a dog whistle VST in their next update?

Could have sworn I commented on this the other day, just my furry mind playing tricks.  This sounds better than the first mix I did listen too.  Sound OK here mix seems to translate thanks for sharing.

Not too bad, I'm in the business of using modern digital production to try and recreate Beatle tracks-in the belief that if kids were taught this music would improve.  This is because they would know the limitless possibility that our digital systems contain.

A couple of things, the initial vocal is a little too loud...remember Lennon is trying to lure you into his dream, and his vocals on the original never over-power the rest of the instrumentation.  And the first section feels a little strange, the timing feels like it's slowing down and speeding up.

Good job though, makes me want to get back to my Strawberry Fields experiment...still need to get a new M-tron plug, and probably the REDD emulator from Waves.

Very ambitious and doggone if you didn't do a terrific job on this cover.
Great stuff!!!

You left out the piano bench squeek at the end.

Thanks, Antti!   I am glad you liked it!

Thanks, James!   Yes, I tried to stay somewhat faithful to the original, though I did add some more "custom" bits the second time around.

Thanks, Mark!   Yeah, I thought it would be a big song to tackle but it's always been one of my favorites.  The verses were actually less complicated than I thought, while the crescendos were pretty much as expected.   But crap, I completely missed the dog whistle!    Or did I...

Thanks, Wookiee!    I'm glad to hear the second time around was an improvement!   I did my best to use those comments for a better/more translatable result

Thanks, Ben!    Although this was my first Beatles (or any artist) cover I completely agree about using the Beatles for that purpose.  Regarding the vocal levels, I intentionally made the vocals the focal point so that the music could slowly build-up around them as the verses progressed.  An artistic choice.   As for the timing, let's just say using Melodyne to create a tempo map for this song was an eye-opening experience...  I wound up keeping maybe 40% of the actual tempo changes in the end, but yes, they do change!

Thanks, Freddy!   I'm glad you enjoyed my rendition of this classic.

Thanks, Ed!   I appreciate the props!    Oh, and the piano squeak is there, probably being masked by the dog whistle or something.   You know how that goes.

Dang Nabity!!

I've been waiting for this.  You are really on to something here.

Who's playing the piano?
Did you play the bass?

The vocal changes are good.

I love the earthy vibe.

I am hearing some timing issues.  The keys seem a little off, or the bass,

it gets Pink Floydish at 3:00 IMO, and that is a cool change up

I'm no expert, but correct those timing issues between the drums, bass, and keys, and you have a hit.  I love loose, but I think you are going to work on this some more.

Thanks man, that is inspiring.

Thanks, Jesse!    Everything is me, recorded track by track.  The piano is an Upright from the Kontakt 5 factory library, and the bass is a cheap Sam Ash "Carlo Robelli" branded four string that I bought years ago when I finally got tired of emulating bass parts on a keyboard.         Thanks for the Pink Floyd reference, never would have thought that but hey, I like it.

I''ll have to listen for timing issues...  I thought I had everything reasonably tight enough for rock n' roll but these things happen.  Any specific spots that jumped out?
