Thanks, James!  It really was fun to do... work, yes, but fun work.

Thanks, Scott!  It is that Beatles song so I just wanted to do it as "right" as possible, for 2016.  But I certainly appreciate the comment as blasphemous as it may be.

Thanks, Lynn!  Yeah, the Beatles were so good at that "it's not really what it seems to be at first listen" type thing.  I've played a few of their songs live years ago, but never recorded one myself!   Funny though, my first mix was a little heavier on the acoustic, but I reduced the level a little and re-EQ'd it for a better blend on the second mix.    Hmmm...

Steve,

Terrific work.   Quite an ambitious undertaking and you did it well.

If you're gonna do a cover start at the top!!  I'm too intimidated to even hum a Beatles song and you singled-handedly tackled one of their masterpieces.  Call me impressed.  Great job!!

Really impressive.  Is there a harder Beatles song to cover?  For the first minute i was still unsure, but you ended up crushing it -- especially the 'love to turn you on' and following sections.  I agree with an earlier comment that the drums caught the unique Ringo character very well.   I like the interlude at the 3 minute mark in particular.  Seems like the vocals restarting at 3:25 need a little something mix-wise.  Just nits -- like saying you didn't get Mona Lisa's eyebrows quite right.

Thanks, Mark!  I'm glad you enjoyed it and I appreciate the comments!

Thanks, Jim!  Starting at the top... I like it.     While it may not be a technically difficult song, it is iconic and the "feel" they achieved through arrangement and overdubs is key.  I am glad you liked my version.

Thanks, cwestmont!   I intentionally started "small" so the arrangement would build up, perhaps a bit more than the original.  I'm glad that came across!  For the drums, I've always been a fan of Ringo's work in this one - I probably knew half the fills going in.    I did mess with the vocals a bit after the Pink Floyd interlude but couldn't seem to "improve" them, so I accepted them as the eyebrows they are.

This made me smile, really splendid work. There are some nits that are mostly in the nature of taste, but my goodness, this is really nicely done. Great vocal work too. You must be very happy that this huge project is done. :)

Thanks, Kevin!   That a cover song could make you smile is something I appreciate.      I've got my own little nits here and there as well, but as was stated in a recent thread (I think by Bit?) at some point you have to call it "done".   I had a blast doing it, and I may revisit it at some point in the future to try a few things.  But that is then and this is now.   So yes, happy to be "done", for now.
