One of the things I want to do with a drum pad is to set the notes up differently.  I like to have a little closer to a convention drum placement on the pads because I "see" the drums mentally and I want to strike the drums more in the "shape" of a kit than notes spread out like a keyboard.  I can do keyboard but I want to try something different.

Hi Dave,

If you're wanting a great set of "finger pads", checkout the Maschine mkII... or Maschine mkII Micro.
I've had just about every other unit available... and the Maschine pads are far and way the best.
Great dynamics/feel...
For lack of a better explanation, it feels/responds like a musical instrument.

Thanks, Jim.  I'll definitely check that out.
