Wookie, it's good to hear from you.  Thanks for the kind words.

Dan, I subtly boosted the reverb in Session Horns which achieved the desired results, I believe.  It's not posted, yet, but I'll get to that later.  Thanks again.

Nice one, Lynn.   I don't know that I personally find the tone of the lyrics "dark" necessarily, but maybe more as poignant.  And musically, it matches up well with the lyrics and it all fits together - a bit retro but with some modern polish.

I also think it'd be a great song to put to video.

Really nice work Lynn.  Poignant social commentary from a personal perspective.  It definitely would make an excellent video.  The mix sounds great to me.  I wish that I could get the clarity and separation that you get.  I am not a big fan of over production as it can (IMHO) take away the emotion of a song or in some cases over-dramatize it.  You have hit on a good balance.  You start off in what seems a reflective manner and build to more of a frustrated (not angry) emotion at the end.  Your use of various instruments and vocalizations as fills and accents is very tasteful indeed.
Brilliant stuff my friend!

To Scott, Steve, and Freddy - thank you my friends!  You are encouraging me in ways unexpected.  Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good ;)

nice tune.

The mix was clean and your voice has just the right edge for the lyrics.

I like the lyrics...Fit the tune very well. And that guitar sound!

One idea: at the end you repeat the title lyric in the background, and a fuzzed-out distorted version might accent the emotion. But it is ready to go as is.

Great job Lynn. My only (personal taste) crit is the left rhythm guit is a tad loud and/or spread a bit too far out.

Very cool song Lynn and great mix/performances. Love the guitar licks.
My only personal thing is I really dislike the horn thing - sorry mate but I will always be honest with you. If you do change it, maybe a big synth thing or something? Or even just take it out completely?

Tom, thank you for the kind words and your time.

cwestmont, thanks for you time and idea re: the ending.  I'll play with that.

Ed, thanks for your comments and time.  I'll listen for that on the next pass.

Daryl, I do appreciate your honesty always.  And, just because you said it, I will automatically consider this.  Actually, I auditioned a number of synth sounds in Z3ta, DimPro, and Rapture Pro before settling on the horns.  I decided the horns were more expressive because of their volume swell and the long notes.  I've gotten so used to them that it would be akin to taking the cellos out of "Eleanor Rigby" ;)

Again, thank you all for your contributions!
