"Hi Wladziu,

We’d like to let you know that your Waves Update Plan for the following product/s will expire in 14 days, on 3/1/2017:...."

I received an email from Wave Audio concerning renewing my Update Plan. What surprised me is starting the email with "Hi Wladziu" which is polish for my name Walter.  I'm not sure if this is a scam or some sort of virus and didn't click on any of the links. The contact info is correct for Waves Audio, but anybody can look that up. On the other hand it does have one plug-in that I purchased from them. Why address me as Wladziu though? Anybody else receive an email like this from them?

What is your "Waves ID"?  If that's it then that is why it's addressed
that way.

Waves is an Israeli company.  So can't think of "why" otherwise,
but you might want to log in on the Web and check your expiration
date to see if they match, and if not, delete the email.

It's just a reminder anyways and doesn't really mean anything.

I've never used Wladziu for any user ids. The reason I brought it up is I thought it might be a virus or something.

Got the same email except I'm called Sue.  Waves also uses a 3rd party to personalize email.  If you get one again there is a link at the bottom to unsubscribe to this 3rd party email system.  BTW if you go to Waves FB page you will see the same rant.  Don't call me Sue!

Waves email ad campaigning is annoyingly intrusive... what I would call spamming...

Like their plugs but not their marketing

...and put 2 'n 2 together?

That should be " ...and put an' a one, an' a two together?"
