BTW last version of windows that partition magic is compatible with is XP I believe, and XP is not compatible with Sonar X3E. If you have PM installed then this might be the root cause of your issues (it should be uninstalled of not compatible with your OS):

For some reason I had a few neurons crossed. I in fact have been using
Partition Wizard Pro for years and years, but normally only during the initial setup of a new system, or if I run out of space on a partition. Sorry for the confusion. I guess I probably used Partition Magic a really long time ago.
For the record, I have not suffered any sequels from this experience so I'll now forget about it.
