Given my recent woes with EZ Drummer, I am thinking about buying Addictive Drums.  Any thoughts on the best kits for organic music?  In the brief demos, I liked the 60s vintage and the two Oysters.

Kick and snare always attract me to a kit because toms, hats, and cymbals are less distinctive and I have a pretty good selection.  Kick and snare affect the song's character a lot.

ATM it may be cheaper to buy the X3 Producer upgrade which includes Addictive Drums. Addicitive Drums is a separate install directly from the XLN site and does not require X3 be installed to use AD.

What Scook said.

I use the toms from the Blue Oyster, It may be black but I'm pretty sure it's the blue. I bought the Sonor Designer snare. I don't recall, offhand, the BDs I use. You can check the toms here. This song is tom intensive. The good thing about AD2 is that you can use 2 bass drums, or 4 if you want, to get the sound you want.

I also would upgrade to X3 although you get AD and not AD2 which has many enhancements over AD. As far as kits I have a bunch, but for organic sounds the Jazz Sticks is also very cool, besides the Oyster kits. My latest addition was the Fairfax and I like it a lot. Indie is awesome also!!!!!!!!!!! I like them all. Lol!

I'm pretty sure you get AD2. I'm not positive but when AD2 was released, as long as you bought X3 after a certain date, you got the upgrade.

As per this page, it looks like you get AD2 when you upgrade to SONAR X3 now...

"Upgrade to X3Producer" I puchased Late Sept 2013.
But Melodyne Essentials and Addictive Drums 2?

These may or may not be part of the X4 upgrade.
Coming up on that date for X4.  Of course I don't know new date.
$75 US is 1/2 price I paid which was bargain.

I stand corrected! Then definitely upgrade to X3!!!!!! No point in just buying AD2 by itself!! Just buy some Ad Packs after that.

Guitarprima, Thank you.  My question was about which expansion packs were best and I appreciate your answering.

Others, Although I am aware of the upgrade option, I have reason not to do that at this moment.  Thanks.
