Hi , while uninstalling a vst , my computer froze , I lost a lot of sonar plugins and had
to reinstall x3 pro . Everything is good except for Dimension Pro. I go to install and
it tells me there is a previous version that needs to be updated to 1.5 first.
When running the update It can not find a previous version.
I cannot uninstall as Dimension Pro does not show up on the list.
I can not find any trace of Dimension Pro any where on the computer in 32 or
64 bit , I have searched the c drive as well as the registry .
any solutions ? Thanks

I would expect it has to be registry entries, DimPro entries are
64bit - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\dp
and
32bit - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Cakewalk Music Software\dp
 
Prior to v1.5 DimPro used HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\Dimension Pro I am not sure but would expect there may be a 32bit location in Wow6432Node for older versions too.
 

Try running a reset and re-scan. Then re-install Dimension Pro, remembering to install using the "Run as Admin" option.

I would add, since the installer is seeing a previous install, if you plan on opening older projects which use the DXi version of DimPro, you may be better off
1) renaming the existing the programs and multisample directories if they still exist
2) locating the older version of DimPro and install it.
3) update to v1.5
4) replace the programs and multisamples with the ones renamed in 1.
This should provide both the old DXi and current VST versions of DimPro using your current programs and multisamples.
