Quick question: =)

I bought the c01u. I am concerned in the proper handling of this microphone. I read that it is okay to leave it plugged in as long as you have a plastic bag over it so dust doesn't go on it, along with it not selected as the default microphone when not in use.

I want to confirm if it is okay to leave the microphone plugged in for long durations when not in use? If it is plugged in to the computer for 48 hours or more, will there be some sort of problem? In addition, is it not advised to simply plug in and plug out the microphone from the USB or is it better to disable the device in the device manager dialogue box before ejecting the USB wire?

Thanks!

well yer , I got mine with a cover.. didn't you ?

I just leave it covered.. unless using it.. hung upside down on the stand.

you can disable it in device manager if you want.. I mean you'll save the LED on the front.. but it's not active..

I've just left mine on.

You're post is very helpful regarding the Samson Mic and it helped me to install it.
I am having a terrible time with a noticable delay when I turn on echo for the audio channel. I ran the wave profiler and it is still the same. The adjustments that I made have not helped.
The recording comes out fine but the delay is awful.
I have a new computer with a Creative Labs Elite Pro Soundcard and interface. The comp has 8 gigs of RAM and is pretty nice. I am thinking that it should work.
I am using the MME drivers.
I suspect that the mic in on the interface will work just fine but I'd like to record with the Samson.
Would appreciate any ideas you have.
Many thanks-Mike

ok , the only time I use MME is when I need to bounce the vocal.. otherwise I switch back to asio mode.. BUT remember you have to untick the samson in the input's list so you can use "asio".. or failing that use WDM at a push..

I don't use a creative card..

well the normal thing is to think whats changed. e.g. software / hardware updates or a setting you have altered. something must have to make it act differently. try to post this question in the main bit of the forum BUT with more detail, like what sound card your using.. obv.. I'm assuming your using a samson thing? but which one..

Hi Fog

Just bought the CO3U mic with the Sonar LE and have latency problems. Sound in the mic
comes back to me about a second later. I'm using on board sound card. Any ideas.
I've recently joined this forum and have been reading your threads. You seem to know your
way around. Any help is received gratefully
