hi, every now and then while i'm working on something the pointer freezes, the only thing I can do to fix it is turn off the computer with the power switch or button. sometimes my work is saved, sometimes not. needless to say this sucks.
has anyone have this problem? and if so how do you fix it?

What kind of mouse are you using? Gaming mouse? USB? USB 1, 2, or 3? PS/2? Wireless? Does this happen with multiple programs, or only Sonar? Are there any other symptoms (Sonar "white screen")? Also, have you updated your graphics drivers lately? Please give some more details.

sorry, i'm not using a mouse, I have a laptop. so i'm using the pad thing to control the pointer

Does sound more a hardware thing than a software issue - as Craig asked does it happen in any other software programs, especially any memory intensive ones? cheers Nigel
