Did some housecleaning on the Music PC. Ran two programs to remove viruses and malware. Somehow in that process my machine is no longer recognized as being authorized to run my Waves licenses.
I'm sure there's some user error involved here but I just can not figure out how to get the machine and software to recognize these licenses. I've also uninstalled and re-installed the software but it doesn't appear to be helping.
If I have to pay the $80 to buy into another year of the Waves Upgrade Plan, so be it. But I want to know that it will solve the problem before spending the money.
Has anyone else experienced this, and how do you resolve it? This is the same machine the licenses have always been on.

(by the way, this is another reason why I love the iLok, I just don't have these types of issues)

As long as you log into your waves account through the license manager, you should be able to reauthorize your products.

I realize this isn't very helpful right now, but since you like the iLok concept, you can just as easily keep your Waves licenses on a simple USB stick in the future.

You can use the waves authorization app to fix lost licences.  Use the recover license tab.

Here's what I did. Run buy a small Sandisk USB thumbdrive and store them there. I've seen issues in the past with having them stored on the local machine, especially because machine hardware can and will change as you upgrade devices, such as your Ethernet card. It looks like Waves registers to a MAC address on the system's NIC card. If you disable that NIC (like switching between wired and WiFi), it could fail this.
