FWIW I have Vegas installed on the same laptop as Sonar, and a bunch of DX plug-ins show up.

I believe Vegas is 64bit so all the DX plug-ins included with it would be too. This would explain the long list of Sony plug-ins available in 64bit SONAR. SoundForge is still 32bit but, as of SF10, bundles some 64bit plug-ins for use in Vegas, which also work in 64bit SONAR.

I think it is best for me to upgrade SF to the latest version for all the benefits. Thank you so much for the screen shot Anderton! That completely convinced me.

Thank you all.

SoundForge 11 is a 32bit application so most of the plug-ins bundled with it will not run in 64bit SONAR. Unless it changed in 11, SoundForge comes with a small collection of 64bit plug-ins which I listed above.

Sound Forge 11 is only 32 bit? That is a bummer....sigh.

32bit programs can be launched from 64bit SONAR Tools menu so it would still be possible to work with it (of course SF9 works just as well as SF11 for this application).
