Hello, I have recently started using Sonar X1 LE and I have a problem regarding the editing of guitar (putting different effects on the track). I'm using an electrical guitar and i would like to find effects for a heavy metal sound. I heard there was something called guitar rig for this, but how do i find it? When i press Audio FX there are different effects such as delay, reverb etc. But there is nothing called Guitar rig. I would be very thankful if someone could explain how to do the guitar editing.

Welcome to the forum.
Basic effects (FX) are included with most Cakewalk programs, like reverb, amp sim, delay, etc., but since you have LE and not a full version of SONAR X3 (yeah, they're already on the third version), the number of effects is reduced.
Upgrading to the full version of X3 will get you all the effects and instruments.
What FX are available to you when you right-click in an audio track's FX bin?

Guitar Rig is a third party effect made by Native Instruments. Some paid versions of Cakewalk products in the past included versions of Guitar Rig. There is a free version available here http://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/guitar/guitar-rig-5-player/
 
 

Yes, you'll have to pay for X3. I got mine (X3a) when it was on sale last year for $24.
As a registered user of SONAR, you should get a lower price than someone who walks into Guitar Center to buy it. Plus, it's downloadable.

Usually software which runs on Win7 will also run on Vista. Here are a couple of other guitar oriented plug-ins which do mention Vista support; Amplitube Free http://www.ikmultimedia.com/freedownload/ (registration required to download) and Ignite Amps http://www.igniteamps.com/en/audio-plug-ins. You could spend a lifetime downloading and testing the plug-ins at kvraudio http://www.kvraudio.com/q.php

You don't have to "upgrade Sonar".
What you need is a guitar amp-simulator plug-in.
Google around for some free amp simulators, or download trial versions of some of the popular amp simulators.
I've tried a fair few over the years, including the popular stuff like POD.
All work nicely in Sonar.
