The info on File Recovery Mode might be helpful if you end up needing to recover projects that for some reason are corrupted.

I am hoping that you can post some updates to your situation - I remain as eager as ever to assist you in any way I can, to get this situation resolved for you.  Did you perform the firmware update?  have you tried other things?  Have there been any additional problems?  Fixes?
