A while back I wrote and recorded "My Little Dove." It's a country pop rock, love and heartbreak tune. The stem files were treated in MixBus 2 for saturation.

According to most music industry professionals that I submitted to, the tune isn't strong enough for mainstream radio. However, in spite of that, the tune is being considered for TV, commercials and film. It just took some extra work finding a honest song publisher:) Therefore, never give up, and don't let the music industry ratings get you down.

This is a really nice song. The vibe is really smooth.

IMO, the lyrics are wrong. Instead of a focus on a girl you like, change the concept to a daughter. It just seems strange to meet love and tell he to fly off. Though if your talking about your daughter from birth to her leaving the nest, as it were, that would be a great concept.

Either way, Excellent.

The song is about falling in love with a woman, then, things fall apart "September rain came." The woman started out being happy, "flies so high," free spirited. However, the relationship doesn't workout for her, therefore, "broken wings." The man makes a choice to set her free to fly away, because her loves her that much.

Love is a two way street. It has to be given freely, otherwise, it's like trying to keep a bug in a jar. They always end up dying.

If I may ask, what are you using for headphones or monitors? I would like to get a idea how the mix translates on the listeners end.

I'm glad that you like the tune. Are you listing with headphones or monitors? If so, what are they? Glad that the tune translates good on your end:)

I listened on a Adam's A7x's in the control room of my studio.  The monitors are mounted on proper speaker stands which have spikes on the feet to decouple from the floor, the monitors themselves sit on isolating spikes on the stands platform.  The back wall is about 2' behind them and they are 2' from the side walls.  The tweeter unit is just level with my furry ears.

The room is treated for reflections and some bass control.

Monitors. Genelec monitors in a pretty well set up room.
Nice bass response and separation throughout your mix
