Hi! This is my most recent tune I did. I thought it was ready but got some feedback which made me think things again. One problem is the intro thingy. I welcome comments and especially about the intro. There is more to read in the SoundCloud about it.

That Gina G song is a guilty pleasure of mine . It does sound a little similar, and also reminds me of the break in Howard Jones 'New Song'.

I thought it was the best bit of the track, loads of energy going on there, had my head bobbing. The rest was fine, pleasant but quite bland, it would have been nice to hear some of that energy coming back later in the piece.

I like the intro mate. That theme coming back in the song would be cool.
Mix-wise, the drums have too much reverb to my ears

Mix is inoffensive. Although I'm only listening to it on laptop speakers.  But that's good because it's coming through clean.  Drums sound a bit boxy, maybe use an EQ at 400hz to clean this up.

Without a chord chart it's hard to tell you to change a chord sequence.  But for me, there is nothing like using maj minor, to create some interest and difference.  I think that's what's missing for me the most, and what I've been trying to tell you.  Here use this http://www.guitar-chords.org.uk/chords-key-f-sharp-minor.html it's Roman Numeral Analysis and it tells you what chords you can use in any giving key.  Normally it's 1, 3, 5...but to really shock people when you're about to go into the first section at the very end of piece...try the seventh.

I'm sorry if you already know music theory.  The modulation near the end was cool.  That's more like what I've been talking about.

Peace Ben

Thank you for your nice comments although unfortunately I now think that putting this tune on the SoundCloud was a bit silly because it is not a good tune. I don't know why but after I was told by a close person that it is really good I believed it really was a good tune and only now I realize my mistake. I agree with what you say about it on other parts.

Thank you for your nice comment. Mixing not my strong point. The intro part actually comes once again after the first chorus.

Thank you for your comment and tips. I really don't know much about music theory. I should invest some time on that.

Hmmm...I like this. Synthy, in a Beverly Hills Cop sound track sorta way!

Sounds mostly like you, though I hear something just a bit different than other recent pieces... can't quite put my finger on it.

Anyhow, the main melody and supporting structure is a nice listen.  And the synths fill the space well.   The drums could still use a little work, but you probably already know that.
