Hi all,

My DAW is Sonar Producer 8.5.1 64 bits.
Earlier, I created some projects with Sonar Producer 8.5.1 32 bits. I want to "migrate" those projects in 64 bits version. But some dx plugins, like FxEq, are not recognized. Those plugins have the .ax extension.
Is this extension supported by Dxshell?

Thanks a lot for your answers

I've seen reports of people successfully using DXShell to adapt 32-bit DirectX plugins for bridging. Haven't had the need to try it myself, as I'm still happily 32-bit. I would guess that it makes no difference whether they have a .DLL, .AX or .WHATEVER extensions, since DX plugins are identified by CLSIDs in the registry rather than by filename. If they show up in 32-bit SONAR, that tells you they're already properly registered.

Thanks for your answer.

I don't see this DX effect in my 64 bits version but well in my 32 bits version.
I'm gonna try to launch a new personnalized installation to see if those dx file with extension will appear in the directory "Shared plugin".
And then I'll try to wrap them.

Have a nice day

FWIW, I've never been able to get the .ax versions to work in 64bit using any type of VST shell app, only those plugins that use a .dll extension.  I'd love that ability, particularly for some of the FX series plugins, but sadly I don't see that ever happening given that they're 32bit DX plugins living in a 64bit VST world.
