I'm kinda curious for feedback. I'm not posting in Songs b/c it has more to do with using Sonar than song writing.

I mostly used EQ automation to try help out the recording.

Nice video Jeff. The violin seems to be too prominent. Part of it is the EQ. With MP3 the high frequencies  are already cut.  Your curve seems to exacerbate the situation.  Also the background as an analog of the violin being too loud the background is too low. I know this was not your doing but if you have R-Mix you might want to see what you can do about it. The method you used to get back volume is exactly what I would have done. Including the CA2A.

All this is all relative. You should be working with your friend and not us. If it sounds good to you and your friend, then you did a good job.

Maybe your friend wants some instruments more prominent than others and maybe your fiend wants some things panned differently ro sounding differently. Talk to him and have him give you track notes and direction as to what he wants

Cj, thanks for your post. I hadn't considered using channel tools and playing with stereo width.

Remember, when you use those kind of stereo widening tools in a  stereo file like an MP3 or WAVE, you will loose some of the low end.

Unless you have Waves' "Center" plugin.

You should be working with the WAV file, not the MP3.

Lets take it even further. You should be working with all the individual tracks. But i do not think its an option, or he would be using it already.
