I know this should most likely be in the hardware section so apologies for being in the wrong forum
but I'm just wondering about a video I've just seen and wondering what keyboard is being played here.

I love it, our band don't have a keyboard player but I'm thinking of sharing on
with our guitarist, neither of us are pianists but they look affordable.

feel free to add to the list.
 
The Juno-G can be got on ebay for £350 which is very good but given the amount of use it's going to get I'd
sooner find something cheaper.

Well, there are Teramin presets available for some soft synths - cannot recall which, but likely candidates might include Reaktor or Kontakt.  Please note that which synths have those types of sounds is conjecture.
 
The reason I mention it is that you can pick up any number of inexpensive midi controllers, and several bands I am aware of play live music that is aided by sequenced keyboard parts.  Please note that it takes a great deal of discipline to do so, as the tempo of whatever is playing in the computer is quite unwilling to change to match any variance in tempo from the band.
 
But on the positive side, doing so would enable your band to have an inexpensive keyboard player, in addition, someone could play rudimentary keyboard chords/leads live using sounds triggered from the controller.
 
Of course, the same option is there if you find a keyboard with its own local sounds in your price range.

I think Bob is right. Its not a theramin, but a D-Beam controller which uses an infrared beam of light to send various controller changes depending on the function selected.

But it can be used like a theremin can't it?
 
I'm looking for a keyboard to use live but one with some kind of theremin would sell it to me much more.
I have plenty of excellent vst theremins though.

Most Roland synths have the D-Beam controller. It sucks pretty hard in practice. I recommend trying it out before buying.
