i am trying to get NI's The Finger set up for use in Sonar but am having no luck.  i know i have to add Reaktor FX as an effect on an audio track, & i know that i have to add a MIDI track, but i cannot figure out how to get the MIDI track to communicate with the Finger.  can someone provide me a little step-by-step on this? t'would be great

1.Create a new audio track.
2.add Reaktor to the audio track FX.
3.Open The Finger in Reaktor
4.Create a new Midi Track
5.Assign the Midi Output to REAKTOR 5
6.Make sure your inputs on both Audio and Midi match your sources (i.e Mic and Midi Controller)

voila.

thanks i will give that a whirl tonight, but last night when i tried to set this up, i did not have the opportunity to assign the MIDI output to Reaktor 5.  maybe i did things in the wrong order

I wonder if you have to alter the properties of Reaktor to use the 'Configure as Synth' option, in order to assign a midi track's output to it.

As of X3 there should be no need to use the "Configure as synth" option for any plug-in. Enabling MIDI I/O in a plug-in's VST header should be enough. Of course, Reaktor already has "Configure as synth" enabled by default.

Yeah as soon as you enable MIDI input for the effect, it should appear in the synth rack and you'll see it listed as an option for the MIDI track's output. I send MIDI to Reaktor effects all the time and it works fine.

yeah something must be wrong here.  i am not presented with the option of choosing Reaktor as an out.  maybe i need to figure out how to enable MIDI input for Reaktor as an effect.  where's that at?

At the top of the effect window there is a drop down menu which enables you to select MIDI out.
