I was wondering why the OP never followed up, I hate unresolved issues. But it would seem his issue was a  bug in X3C and was fixed. I gleaned this by looking at his recent posts and he chimed in on a similar thread about disk full error.

So your issue is not related to the original topic.
Your issue sounds like a bad computer config. Firewire? you should have a second HD 7200 RPM. Run the DPCLAT test and look for background issues etc.

That is really frustrating, MM.  I've had some problems w/ some third party synths, free ware and such.  Never had a problem w/ alchemy, though, other than trying to understand it for programming ;-)   Looking at your specs, I have the novation too and it put automap on my computer which I really didn't want.  I'm wondering if that has introduced some weirdness in midi?  It seems to be a universal midi problem if it is happening w/ all your synths.  And you have put it in bug report w/ Cake, haven't you?  It looks a bit beyond the user forum common knowledge.

Best wishes,

Right now Mike I think your issue is specifically alchemy. If you have any further issues after removing alchemy may I suggest you let us know on the other thread where your specific issue is being troubleshooted in order to avoid confusion. We need to nail down your specific problems. I don't believe you should have any issues with your hardware and your specific problem is unlikely to be Sonar. But if it is maybe we can get to the bottom of it.

@MagicMike - I also think the discussion for your issues would be better served to remain in the other thread you started, so we don't have two sets of things to wade through in order to try to help you.

If you wanted to perhaps post a permalink to this thread into your other thread, then folks could still tie them together, if they wanted to.

I would like you to elaborate on the kinds of crashes and hanging systems and such that you are/were experiencing when using soft synths, as that is quite unusual - just please do do in your other thread.

Thanks,

Any reason why you are not running the "E" patch?

@Wookie this is an old thread from Dec last year 2013 before X3E was out.
Magic's issues are on another thread which has a lot more info.

Sorry for confusion...

This was a thread from 2013 that was added to by MagicMike this afternoon.  All but the last few posts are ancient.

I didn't mean to correct anything - you posted while I was typing, and I guess my post made you go back and edit something - pure happenstance.
